If this level of noise is detrimental to human health, then the entire population of Paris, New York City, and Tokyo should be hospitalized immediately. People who work at airports are exposed to noise. People who work within a few feet of heavy machinery and jackhammers all day are exposed to noise. But the sound emitted from a wind turbine 800 meters to 5 km away? I guess that’s noise in the same way that living a few hundred yards from the interstate exposes you to constant noise. This explains why everyone who lives within a few hundred yards of the highway suffers from “short-term memory effects”, and why congress has imposed a moratorium on all highway construction. Oh wait.

The wind industry continues to grow. By 2030, 20 percent of all electricity in the United States will be generated from the wind. Texas is the leading power state in the country. Pacific Crest Transformers provides custom-built energy-efficient transformers for the wind energy sector. It has many whitepapers and articles on its website, to read them visit here http://www.pacificcresttrans.com/home.html

Also, I'd like to know the age groups of the patients in these studies. I know it's speculative, but I always get this picture of some conservative looking white man or woman, 40+ years old, who want a view from both their beach and mountain house unobstructed by anything, and who think that because gas was 70 cent a gallon for most of their lives that all energy will always be had at an affordable price. People younger than that understand that in a future of increasingly scarce resources, the constant hum of a refrigerator is a small price to paid

This is how loud wind turbines are:

What cracks me up is when I'm watching a wind turbine video, and the sound of nearby cars, people, and the wind itself drowns out the noise made by the turbine.

That is why I am interested in new wind alternatives like Windtamer and Helixwind. Both are smaller scale wind generators, and both produce a heck of a lot of energy. Windtamer is local to me as well (Rochester, NY) and will be giving those Cohocten Mills a run for their money. The Windtamer are turbines that produce almost no noise. The company is new, but watch for them, they just signed up with 3 distributors Nationwide and will be servicing 12 states with this new technology. It slips right through zoning issues because they can operate efficiently at only 13 feet. Do some research on them yourself. windtamerturbines.com OTCC: WNDT
